Who is a Pulmonologist?
A pulmonologist is a medical doctor specialized in diagnosing and treating diseases related to the respiratory system. Pulmonologist also render their services in critical care ICU, evaluate and manage patients with sleep disordered breathing and snoring. They also perform various interventional pulmonology procedures.
What services do you offer at your Pulmonology Clinic?
We offer comprehensive respiratory care services for a wide range of lung diseases. We offer Diagnostic and Therapeutic services for various lung diseases, Pulmonary function tests, Six minute walk test, Measurement of fractional exhaled nitric oxide [FeNO], Oscillometry, measurement of diffusion capacity [DLCO], Chest imaging, CT chest , Diagnostic and therapeutic interventional pulmonology procedures, Sleep study, Laboratory tests, Pulmonary rehabilitation services, guidance for home care for patients with chronic lung diseases including home oxygen therapy and home ventilatory care, vaccination services and patient education for maintaining optimal lung health.
Why might I need to see a Pulmonologist?
You might need to see a pulmonologist if you are experiencing symptoms such as persistent cough, sputum production, breathlessness, wheezing, chest pain, coughing of blood , weight loss, snoring, insomnia, excessive daytime sleepiness or if you have a history of any lung diseases.
What is a Sleep Centre?
A Sleep centre is a specialized facility where sleep-related disorders, such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome are diagnosed and treated. It often includes sleep studies conducted overnight to identify underlying issues.
What happens during a Sleep Study?
During a sleep study (polysomnography), you will stay overnight at our sleep centre. We do overnight sleep study for evaluation of sleep disordered breathing. This helps us diagnose sleep disorders accurately for a tailored treatment plan.
How do I prepare for a Sleep Study?
You will be provided with specific instructions on how to prepare for your sleep study after thorough evaluation prior to it.
What is Sleep Apnea?
Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep. This can lead to disrupted sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness and other serious health issues if not diagnosed and treated.
How can I make an appointment?
To make an appointment, you can call to our clinic directly during our working hours except on holidays. Our staff will assist you in scheduling a convenient time for your visit.
Do I need a referral to visit your clinic?
You can visit our clinic with or without referral. Contact our clinic for more information. If you are on home oxygen/ home ventilatory care and on any type of dependent services for activities of daily living the same needs to be mentioned prior to the visit to our clinic.
What can I expect during my first visit?
During your first visit, the pulmonologist will review your medical history, examination findings, discuss your symptoms and perform appropriate evaluation to determine the best line of treatment.
